Short Term Courses and Workshops

      The Department has organized more than 60 short term courses and workshops for field engineers on various aspects of Hydrology . Tailor- made short term courses are also designed and conducted as per the need of the field organizations. Field organizations may contact Prof. and Head for the design of such courses. The design and conduct of following one week duration short term courses are in pipe line:

    1. Hydrological analyses and planning for Hydro-power projects,
    2. Design flood estimation for hydraulic structures,
    3. GIS and Remote sensing applications in Hydrology,
    4. Hydro-informatics and Decision support systems,
    5. Watershed Management
    6. Artificial recharge, and
    7. Ground water modeling.

      In addition to the conduct of more than 60 short term courses, the Department has also conducted 4 International symposia and two National seminars .  

In the last three years, DOH has conducted a no. of short term and 6 GIAN courses, 2 brainstorming sessions, workshops, and 1 international conference on various topics related to hydrology and environmental issues.
