CENTRE FOR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ROORKEE
CTRANS is a Centre of excellence of IIT Roorkee in the area of Transportation and infrastructure. The Centre aims to evolve a holistic approach to the study of Transport & management systems. CTRANS is primarily a multi-disciplinary initiative with the collective participation of Engineers, Architects, Planners, Scientists and Researchers from Science & Technology, Humanities and Social science, Architecture & Planning and Management backgrounds. The aim of CTRANS is to promote multi-disciplinary research and education for manpower development in transportation systems encompassing all modes of Transport such as Road Transport, Non-motorized Transport(NMT), Rail Transport, Inland Water Transport, Air Transportation, Freight & Logistics Transport etc.



OUR OBJECTIVES
To promote multidisciplinary research on transportation systems.
To provide technical support to national projects related to the growth of Transportation System in the country.
Establishment of International Linkage for collaborative research in the frontier areas.
Creation of a Resource Centre for rapid dissemination of information and knowledge.

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that the Centre for Transportation Systems is hosting ThinkQuest, its Second Center Research Day. On April 12-13, 2024, at 09:00 AM, this event will be held at the CTRANS Studio. We are glad to welcome Prof. Geetam Tiwari, Professor of Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Prof. Travis Waller, Chair of Transport Modelling and Simulation, TU Dresden as Distinguished Expert for the event. The event will include but not limited to: Expert Lectures from honourable Chief guests and distinguished expert followed by Poster exhibition and Posters presentation by participants. The vision of Research day is to provide a comprehensive platform for experts, faculties and participants to discuss current research on the interdisciplinary themes in transportation systems. We are happy to let you know that on February 16–17, 2023, at 10:30 am, the Centre for Transportation Systems will organize an Industry-Academia Event in the Biotech Auditorium. We are pleased to host esteemed industry leaders for the event. The major goal of this event is to establish connections with businesses engaged in the transportation infrastructure sector for the gain of academia and business and to bring innovative idea-based solutions for the country's Transportation problems.
