2021
Stuti Shah (Ph.D. Scholar), has received the prestigious Berkner Travel Fellowship to attend AGU 2021. It is a prestigious fellowship by AGU that fully funds all the expenses involved in attending the AGU conference. This year, it has been awarded to a total of 14 people around the world.
Ms. Anuradha Garg has received a scholarship to participate in IGCS winter school 2022 co-organized by the University of Stuttgart and IIT Madras on 'Sustainable Waste Management for a circular economy from 21 February - 4 March 2022.
Abinesh Ganapathy was provisionally selected for the prestigious Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship (Ph.D.) to continue his research at the University of Birmingham in collaboration with Prof David Hannah (Feb 2022 - Jan 2023).

Aniruddha Saha(Team Lead), Aniket Chandra, Babita Malakar, and Shrishti Sharma have secured a spot in the winners' category under the guidance of Prof D S Arya, in MAPATHON organized jointly by ISRO, IIT-B, AICTE. The team had mapped the Urban Sprawl and Groundwater change of Ludhiana District over two time periods- to explain the groundwater change over time due to Urbanisation.

Team HydroR (Aniruddha Saha, Shrishti Sharma, Ankush Choudhary, Prachi Singhal, Babita Malakar, Ashish Manoj J) consisting entirely of students from the Department of Hydrology was selected as one of the eight finalists for the Wave2WebHackathon conducted by WRI India in association with Microsoft and BlackRock. As part of the Hackathon, the team created a neural network model to predict the reservoir water availability one month ahead for the city of Bangalore. The event had over 2130 registrations from across the globe.
Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PMRF Fellow) delivered an expert lecture on “Data-Driven Modelling: Soft computing techniques in Water Resources Engineering Using MATLAB®” on July 01, 2021, during the Two-week Faculty Development Program on “Smart Cities Enabling Technologies: A Step towards New India (Phase-II)” (Online), June 21-July 3, 2021, organized by BVM Engineering College, Gujarat.
Mr. Shubham Tiwari, Research Scholar, received the 'ISH G.M.Nawathe Puraskar (Best Paper in Hydro- 2019 International) for the year 2020 for his paper “Desalinization from Agricultural field through Ditch Drainage system” presented in Hydro- 2019 International at Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, hosted by Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (Ph.D. Candidate) was awarded the prestigious “INSPIRE Fellowship” from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to pursue doctoral studies.
Mr. Shashi Ranjan guided by Prof. Brijesh K Yadav and Prof. Himanshu Joshi successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “In situ arsenic sequestration using permeable reactive barriers” on Feb 15, 2021.
Ms. Aliva Nanda (Ph.D. student) under the supervision of Prof. Sumit Sen successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis “Understanding Hydrological Processes of Lesser Himalayan Hillslopes” on 2nd February 2021.

Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (Ph.D. candidate) has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF).
Ashish Mishra (Team Lead), Malla Mani Kanta, Sushmita Gouraha, and Aman Kumar under the guidance of Prof D S Arya (Team ID: Mapathon3351), secured a spot in the winners' category in a National Level Map Making competition Mapathon 2020 jointly organized by IIT Bombay, ISRO and AICTE that received over 5000 entries throughout the country.
Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (Ph.D. candidate) received the conference grant for participation in the 6th IAHR Europe Congress 2020 in Warsaw, Poland under the program “PROM - International Scholarship Exchange of Doctoral Students and Academic Staff”. The conference will be organized by International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), and financed by: The Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.

Mr. Mulugeta Musie Abdi (Ph.D. student) under the supervision of Prof. Sumit Sen successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis “Hydrologic Impacts of Climate and Anthropogenic Changes on an Ethiopian Rift Valley Lake” on 30th of September 2020.

2017
Vivek Gupta (15917003​) received his Ph.D. from the Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee in April 2020. During his Ph.D., he received SERB International Travel Grant and IITR Foreign Travel Scholarship to attend EGU General Assembly in Vienna, Austria organized in April-2017. Vivek also received AGU Student Travel Grant and CSIR Foreign Travel Grant to attend AGU Fall Meeting in December 2017 organized in New Orleans, USA.
