Hands-on Training program on tools and techniques of experimental hydrology

The inaugural ceremony of the DST sponsored “Hands-on Training program on tools and techniques of experimental hydrology” was held on 24 may, 2022. The training program is being organized by the Department of Hydrology in collaboration of Amity University. During the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Brijesh Kumar Yadav, Head, Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee, and chairperson of the training program, welcomes the dignitaries and participants in the Department and briefed them about the departmental activities. Prof. Yadav further states about the uniqueness of the department as it is one its kind in India dedicated to research and education in the field of hydrology. He further stressed about the specialized training in the hydrology of the graduate engineers/scholars and working professionals from different disciplines to opens up a vista of opportunities for the candidates.
Chief Guest, Prof. M. Parida, Deputy Director, IIT Roorkee, in his address highlighted the amount research and effort in the water sector by the institute. He further informed the audience about the celebration of 175 years of imparting technical education and contribution in the development of the society by IIT Roorkee. In particular, he talks about the opening of new centres and the outreach programmes conducted by IIT Roorkee. Further he exhorted the delegates and faculty to provide the young researcher the skills needed to flourish in this competitive world.
