The IIT Roorkee chapter of ShARE offers a platform for young engineers to gain an international exposure on social, business and economic issues. ShARE, which stands for Sharing Analysis of Regional Economies, is a multicultural, non- profit organisation for students that connects talented students to global leaders to discuss global economic issues. We strive to better understand the complexities of local socio-economic issues through presentations, conferences and projects. ShARE’s long term mission is to generate, share and use knowledge to contribute to regions’ human, social and economic development.
ShARE IIT Roorkee chapter was set up in 2007. Since then, it has moved places in equipping engineers with an economic understanding of issues. We actively work with members from 20+ ShARE teams spread across 10+ countries. Knowledge is at the heart of ShARE, and excellence is the vector that we follow.
What we do?
Presentations & Projects - We choose to work on diverse topics, ranging from “Green technology in Sugar & Automobile Industry” to “Telemedicine”, “Mergers & Acquisitions in Indian Telecom Industry” to “Social Entrepreneurship”, for presentations and projects.
Seminars – ShARE IITR organizes’ Colloquium’, an annual interactive Panel Discussion held in Cognizance to discuss contemporary socio-economic issue. Several eminent personalities – social activists, journalists, economists, professors, entrepreneurs, scientists, representatives from IMF, UN agencies have graced this event.
Quizzes – ShARE IITR has organizes several quizzes on business and economics to raise awareness in campus.
Global Events – We represent our institute in World Seminars held across the globe. ShARE IITR has been acclaimed as one of the best teams in ShARE at several occasions.
