At CoEDMM, IITR
On the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and aligning with the activities of the 175th year celebration of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, the Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management (CoEDMM) and South Asia Alliance of Disaster Risk Institutes (SAADRI) jointly organizes a program on “Disaster Management Action Frontiers”.
This event encompasses training of students, researchers, early-career scientists, and stakeholders on all the four pillars of disaster management i.e., preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation stages by showcasing actual events of disasters in the field/in-situ i.e., Uttarakhand Himalayas.
A maximum of 20 participants from SAADRI countries. Mostly of PhD students, early-career scientists, and stakeholders. Shortlisting criteria will be decided in consultation with the Faculties of CoEDMM. Major criteria will be based on relevant research interest, experience and ability to work on field campaigns.
175 Years Celebrations of IIT Roorkee
The event starts on 10th October 2022. It is scheduled for 4 days including 1 day on program introduction and basic training, 2 days of a field expedition in Uttarakhand, and 1 day on valedictory. The tentative schedule and list of events are as follows.
