REAL TIME DIGITAL SIMULATOR (RTDS) FOR SHP PLANT |

Real-Time Digital Simulator for Small Hydropower Plants for training has been estabilished at AHEC IIT Roorkee |
- SET up with support of MNRE and UNDP in April 2007
- Offering 4 levels training modules of 6 days (in service), 15 days (new) and 1 day (owners)
- All types of operation normal- start/stop of unit, synchronisation of unit with the grid, load variation, turbine and
generator protection, breakers failures
- operation log and trend chart, power channel , forebay and penstock draining, loss of auxiliary supply, valve blocking in
position, sensors defects
- Shall result in reduced O&M costs, avoids damage to plant, increase in plant life and reduce
training time
