Institute Colour: (The 'Colour' is the highest award given to an individual player for his/her performance of a very high order in a year).
Institute Blue: (The Institute Blue, colour award is to presented a sportsmen (a) who wins colours in at least three different games during his stay in the Institute).
Special Prizes: (If a student wins a Running up Trophy of Individual performance for three successive years).
Best Sportsman Award: (An award for the Best Sportsman of the year shall be made for good overall performance).
Best Sportswoman Award: (An award for the Best Sportswoman of the year shall be made for good overall performance).
Rohit Guruwara Award: (This award is given to the Best sportsman from the Ist Year B.Tech & B.Arch classes).
Best Emerging Sportsperson Award: This award is given to a person who shows the best improvement and results in the session in the respective game)
Distinguished Contribution Award: (It would be awarded to the student/s that has devoted superior time effort to the organizing work in the Institute Sports Council and has displayed extra-ordinary administrative skills.)
Criteria of selection of secretary, Jt secretary and Dy. General Secretary
Nominations are invited through Official Notice for the post of Dy. General Secretary, Secretary & Jt. Secretaries for each games for each session. They have to full fill the following below listed criteria to appear for the post.
Criterion for Secretary and Jt. Secretary selection:
Student should be a part of Inter IIT Team (if applicable)
Students should bear a minimum of CGPA of 6.5.
Criterion for selection for Dy. Jt. Secretary:
2 year of involvement in Sports activities for U.G students.
Students should bear a minimum of CGPA of 6.5.
NSO (NATIONAL SPORTS ORGANIZATION)
NSO (National Sports Organization) scheme was launched to spread awareness of physical fitness and importance of Sports among students. About 250 students from Ist Year were selected and fitness/ Coaching classes were conducted four days in a week. It was found that there was a marked improvement in their physical fitness level. A Number of NSO students have represented Institute’s team & performed well in various games.
Alumni Award
"Jaikamal Award for the Best Athlete of the year" established by Mr. Jai P Agarwal, an alumnus of the IIT Roorkee (BE-1959-Civil Engg.), In which Rs.10,000/- is to be awarded to best athlete in male and female category respectively.
Anoop Singh Khurana Memorial Trophy for Institute Squash Open Championship. A Trophy is to be awarded to the winner and runner of the institute open competition. In which Rs.30,000/-and Rs.20,000/- are to be awarded to winner and runner respectively.
1959 Batch Diamond Jubilee Award for Excellence in Badminton of the year, established by Dr. Prem Krishna, an alumnus of the IIT Roorkee BE-1959 Batch) specifically given a Trophy, to the winners and runners of the Institute open competition.
"KCPL Award" for the Best Player in Cricket & Football. The award shall be given to the best cricketer of the year/best footballer of the year, to be decided on the basis of his performance in the Inter IIT Sports Meet. In which Rs.10,000/- is to be awarded to best best cricketer and best footballer.
1968 - Batch Award for overall Best Athlete (Female). In which Rs.10,000/- is to be awarded .
Dr. K.V Mital Memorial Award (for men) cash Prize Rs. 5000/- will be given to the winners of Institute open Tennis championship in men category.
Mrs. Sushila Mital Memorial Award (for women) cash Prize Rs. 5000/- will be given to the winners of Institute open Tennis championship in men category.
