Initiatives and Contributions as Adjunct Faculty
Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (CSRD), IIT Roorkee
(August 2025 – July 2026)
During my tenure as Adjunct Faculty at the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (CSRD), IIT Roorkee, I have undertaken several academic, institutional, and outreach initiatives that have contributed to strengthening the Centre’s visibility, collaborations, and capacity-building efforts. The major contributions are summarized below:
Resource Mobilization for National Workshop
Facilitated financial support for organizing the national workshop titled “Sustainable Rural Development and Viksit Bharat @2047”, held on 29 November 2025 at CSRD. The inaugural session was graced by the Hon’ble Director, IIT Roorkee, as the Chief Guest.
International Academic Engagement
Facilitated and coordinated the visit of 19 international delegates participating in the programme “SDG Partnership for an Equitable Future”, organized by DWRM, FRI Dehradun on 6 March 2026. The delegates interacted with the 2014 Batch of Indian Forest Service officers on critical issues including biodiversity conservation, forest degradation, wildlife management, and soil and water conservation.
Actively participated in the 4th Roorkee Water Conclave 2026 (23–25 February 2026) as:

• Judge for the Poster Presentation Competition
Institutional Collaboration
Facilitated the signing of a visionary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indian Nurserymen Association and IIT Roorkee on 20 February 2026. The collaboration aims to promote sustainable nursery management, environmentally responsible agricultural practices, innovation, and livelihood generation.
Development of a New Professional Course
In collaboration with Prof. Vinay Sharma and Prof. Aashish Pandey, developed a 22-hour professional course titled “Sustainable Natural Resource Entrepreneurship”. The programme has been designed for:
• Government officers
• Natural resource managers
• Corporate professionals
• NGOs
• Young entrepreneurs
• University students
The course is offered as a five-day residential executive programme at the Continuing Education Centre (CEC), IIT Roorkee.
Successful Conduct of Executive Training Programmes
Successfully organized three executive programmes (26–28 March, 19–21 May, and 26–28 May 2026), training approximately 45 senior officers from the Forest Departments and Forest Corporations of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
The programmes received highly positive feedback from participants and attracted officers at the level of Managing Director (Level-16), demonstrating the programme’s relevance and credibility.
Initiated discussions to extend the programme to officers from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, with the objective of expanding IIT Roorkee’s outreach and executive education portfolio.
Building Strategic Partnerships
Facilitated interactions between senior government officials from Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and the Head, CSRD, to explore collaborative research projects, policy initiatives, executive education programmes, and institutional partnerships.
Future Institutional Development
Continued active engagement with various State Governments, public institutions, and professional organizations to attract additional training programmes, collaborative projects, and consultancy opportunities for CSRD.
These initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to the long-term growth, visibility, financial sustainability, and national outreach of this emerging Centre.
