Message from the Head of the Centre

The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (CSRD) was established in 2024 to address the challenges of rural India through science, technology, and innovations. The Centre develops and customizes technologies to meet rural needs, aiming to create a sustainable rural ecosystem through partnerships with industry, government, voluntary organizations, and academia. Its focus areas include renewable energy, waste management, agriculture and water management, food preservation, rural innovation, strategic planning, and entrepreneurship. CSRD works to generate employment, strengthen livelihoods, skill rural youth, and improve the quality of life, contributing to India’s Sustainable Development Goals. CSRD reaches the grassroots through teaching, research, and consultancy, expediting rural transformation across India.
