Message from HODs of Centre for Nanotechnology.
The world of materials science is witnessing a revolution in exploring matter at the nanoscale. Nanotechnology is one of the emerging technologies of the 21st century. The field of nanotechnology requires people with a fair background in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and as well as in electrical, mechanical, metallurgy, and chemical engineering. The selection policy of the Centre revolves around the same thing to bring together people of various backgrounds to carry out interdisciplinary research activities. The faculties drawn from multiple departments associated with the Centre are engaged in various projects dedicated to nano-electronics such as nanowires, nano-medicine such as anti-bacterial, anti-cancer and imaging systems, energy applications such as new generation batteries, supercapacitors, and solar cells.
The course structure of the Centre is specially designed to make the students acquainted with nanotechnology and train the students in nano-related areas with a desire to constantly up-date their knowledge to launch them into the demands of the R&D sector. Our Centre has effec-tively supported the students for internships in the best academic institutions in the past and will continue to do the same in the future. This has helped them in enhancing their professional skills as well as having access to world-class technology. The Centre has reviewed its course structure and policy from time to time to keep our students at the forefront of technology. I do confidently say that this year's batch can very well adapt to the demands of the corporate sector if the students of the batch get placement opportunities under campus recruitment. I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
