The Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management (CoEDMM) is knowledge development centre on hazard sciences. Its aim is to understand risks of society towards natural and man-made hazards, to impart techno-managerial education to the next generation students, facilitate researchers through advanced research facilities for innovative knowledge generation, and share the same through science and technology advises to professional managers in disaster risks, vulnerable communities, analysts and policy makers. Integrated program of the Centre enhances the quality of learning experience for graduate and professional students who participate in the Centre's research and education projects. With the ever increasing pace at which technology is expanding its reach in today's dynamic world and with the ever growing need for unparalleled demands, the onus is on developing managers with that perfect touch of technical expertise.

The CoEDMM has the distinction of being the only institute in the country where perfect blend of engineers and scientists meets management discipline producing the techno-managers required to build and maintain disaster resilience. The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR, 2015) has brought a sweeping change in disaster management perspective. Paradigm shift towards risk management brings big data management and networking into the focus. The CoEDMM is committed to work for risk resilience and in bringing changes at local, national and global level as important knowledge partner.
