EDPE group in the EED works broadly in the areas of electric drives for transportation electrification, advanced power electronics converters, grid-interactive converters, solar PV systems, microgrids, solid state transformers, PWM techniques, converter topologies, electrical machines, WBG device-based power converters, battery chargers, etc. The group currently has a total of 12 diverse, enthusiastic, passionate faculty members who closely work together to generate new avenues in the areas of power electronics. The group faculty members frequently have research collaborations with the industries and Indian/foreign academia. The faculty members regularly publish their work in internationally reputed journals and conferences. The group currently has six fully equipped laboratories with state of the art hardware and software, which enables UG, PG and PhD students to carry out their experimental work. Some of the facilities available with the group are advanced oscilloscopes, motor-generator set until 10kW, Autotransformers, Dspace setup, Ti-DSPs boards, FPGA boards, IGBT modules, multilevel converters, etc.
The Mtech and integrated Mtech courses are offered in these areas with an approximate capacity of 15 and 25 students, respectively. We encourage our students to take part in research and at the same time gain experience in industries/academia. We welcome highly motivated and passionate students to join our programme and be a art of the exciting work that we do at EED, IITR.
