Admissions to Programmes

Doctoral
The department opens for intake of Ph.D students twice every year: Autumn session, and Spring session. Selection is conducted after interviews with a merit-based pool of GATE and NET-JRF qualified applicants. Reservation of seats will be according to the norms of the Government of India. Postgraduate
The department opens for intake of postgraduate students once every year: Autumn session. Admission to the two years M.Sc. in Economics programme is conducted via the Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM). Check JAM website for exam questions pattern, procedures and important dates. Students with a Bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. Candidates appearing for their final degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for the admission tests. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to securing first division in their Bachelor's degree examination. Please note that eligibility does not guarantee admission to the program. Admission will be based on the merit of the candidate in the JAM examination followed by an interview. Reservation of seats will be according to the norms of the Government of India.
Undergraduate
The department opens for intake of undergraduate students once every year: Autumn session. Admission of 10+2 qualified students to the BS-MS (Economics) five year programme is conducted via the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced). Check JEE website for latest updates and application procedures.
