Felt Like Machine

A training workshop program on “Felt Making machine” was conducted for the NGO-Khamir Craft Resource Centre, Gujarat at HRED IIT Roorkee. The training was imparted by trained persons from J&K and HRED in association with Uttarakhand Handloom & Handicraft Development Council (UHHDC).
Training was conducted in Camp office, Village Nanj of District Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) in association with Jansamarth, Tehri and PGVS for the artisans from area of Karsog, Himachal Pradesh.

Outcomes of the Training

One unit of developed rolling machine was procured by Khamir Craft Resource Centre, for dissemination of the technology on cluster level in the state of Gujarat.

Successful operation of the developed rolling machine to use the local wool of Gujarat.

Artisans of Gujarat express that this developed technology will enhance the livelihoods and employment in their area.

Explored the possibilities of technology transfer to the manufacturers in Gujarat and Uttarakhand.
