He has established and implemented a critical heat transfer enhancement technology based on Liquid Crystal Thermography (LCT) and was the foremost to initiate the implementation of Liquid Crystal Thermography for heat transfer research in India. His research interest includes Experimental fluid mechanics, Turbulence, Optical based thermos-fluid diagnostic tools, Flow visualization, Heat transfer enhancement, Cryogenics, and Thermal Contact Conductance. On the theme of TCC, he is one among the pioneer researchers in India, working from more than a decade.
He is actively associated with BARC, Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), and Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory (TBRL) as the consultant and researcher and working on different topics related with TCC estimation, the gas turbine blade cooling, nuclear safety management, detonics, shock analysis, and design and development of cooling system of electronic components for Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS).
He is also passionately involved in the progress of optical flow diagnostic tools and organized several national and international workshops related with the flow visualization and its role in thermo-fluid measurements and delivered many invited talks at various institutes and research organizations and published many high impact papers in various international journals and international conferences of repute.
