Extreme Mechanics Laboratory
Extreme Mechanics Laboratory
About
This research laboratory conducts research in the area of injury biomechanics. The laboratory focuses on extreme impact events such as blunt, ballistic, and blast. The current work focuses on head injury biomechanics, soft tissue mechanics, and the design and development of smart helmets. The lab aims to provide effective strategies and devices to mitigate the effects of extreme loading. The laboratory has numerous experimental and computational facilities, including a linear impactor system, pendulum impactor setup, a high-speed camera, data acquisition system, and high-performance computing clusters.

The Extreme Mechanics Laboratory is located at the Ground Floor in the East Block of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department (MIED).
