Process Equipment and Thermal System Laboratory
Process Equipment and Thermal System Laboratory
About Lab
The Process Equipment & Thermal System (PETS) Lab at IIT Roorkee is actively engaged in innovative research in the following area:

• Design and Development of Heat Exchangers (Tubular, Shell & Tube, Plate, compact Plate fin heat exchangers)
• Design and Testing of Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) for Electric Vehicles
• Design and Testing of Thermal Energy Recovery and Storage systems
• Performance Estimation of Solar Thermal Systems
• Solid Desiccant Cooling System
• Nuclear Reactor Safety and Hydrogen Generation

PETS lab is equipped with all necessary modern instrumentation and the research activities are carried out in particular significance to heat recovery solutions, innovative design and manufacturing of compact and multifluid heat exchangers, and renewable energy with special emphasis to solar thermal. With the aim of creating more sustainable technologies to meet current age industrial requirements, the PETS lab can provides solutions for high power intensive unit such as thermal power plants, steel, cement, chemical and automobiles industries as well as to mid & small scale industries.
