As we celebrate 175 glorious years of the rich educational heritage of IIT Roorkee (earlier known as the University of Roorkee) we present ‘Jal Utkarsh’ a symbolic name coined for the Research Scholars’ Day celebration at WRD&M. Jal means water and Utkarsh stands for excellence, this day is dedicated to celebrating the excellence in the water domain.
Research Scholars’ Day is an annual event of the Department of Water Resources Development & Management at IIT Roorkee where all the students from Masters and Ph.D. students showcase their research work on a common platform. The sole purpose of this day is to encourage research awareness among the new students. One of the key highlight events of the day is the interactive ‘Alumni Talk Series’ where we invite Alumni of the department to share their research-based, professional and personal experiences, especially towards future career prospects/avenues. The celebration also includes a number of technical events and competitions to encourage student participation and interaction amongst each other and the faculty members in the department.
