Hydroclimatic research is paramount for comprehending the intricate interactions between climate and water resources, particularly amidst the escalating climate variability and change. The ramifications of hydroclimatic extremes like droughts, floods, and heatwaves extend far and wide, impacting ecosystems, agriculture, water availability, and human livelihoods. As societies strive to adapt and mitigate the consequences of these extremes, an urgent need exists to augment our understanding of hydroclimatic processes, develop effective analytical methods, and apply them to real-world scenarios.

To address these imperatives, the workshop known as STAMBH aims to provide participants with a comprehensive platform to explore and delve into the various facets of hydroclimatic research. STAMBH comprises three verticals, namely Data, Methods, and Applications, each concentrating on pivotal components of hydroclimatic analysis.

• Applicants pursuing Postgraduate (PG) or PhD degrees in Water Resources, Climate Change, Agriculture, Disaster Management & allied fields from Indian Institutes/Colleges/Universities can apply.
• Total number of seats are limited to 100.
• Registration fee for each participant will be 2000/- rupees only. The top 25 participants shall be supported by the organizers for the shared accommodation, travel costs (as per GoI norms upon reimbursement of bills) and food.
• Organizers will support all the participants with study material, registration kit and snacks during the workshop.
• A departmental committee will review the applications, and shortlisted candidates will be informed through email.

The selected candidates for STAMBH Workshop will join subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

• Please send a permission/recommendation letter from your Guide/Head of Department.
• You will have shared accommodation in a guest house inside the IIT Roorkee campus during your stay, subject to availability.
• Food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will also be arranged during your stay without any additional cost. Participants from IIT Roorkee will not be eligible for accommodation on the IIT Roorkee campus.
• You are requested to update us with your travel and stay plans via e-mail.
• Any cost related to accommodation during the travel will not be reimbursed.
• The organizers will not cover any other expenses, such as daily use expenses, refreshments outside the IITR campus, and local travel during the summer school.
• It is highly recommended that participants bring their laptops for the hands-on session and training.
• Access to wifi on campus will be provided.
• You are requested to submit an abstract/technical note of your work that you would like to present at the workshop.
• At least 90% attendance will be required to issue a workshop Certificate.
• You all are strongly advised to adhere to the latest COVID guidelines.
• Organization Committee, department and institute will not be responsible for any unforeseen situation during the training period.
• Your selection for the workshop is based on the information produced. During physical verification, if we find any mismatch, the committee hold the right to cancel your selection with immediate effect. In such a case, no reimbursement will be offered.
• The organizing committee reserved the right to change the selection decision or alter the plan. In any case, the decision of the committee will be considered final.

Open discussion for early career researcher

Open discussions are crucial for early-career professionals because they provide a forum for networking, cooperative problem-solving, and information sharing. This forum encourages multidisciplinary cooperation and enhances professional growth by offering chances to learn and make worthwhile connections. Faculty from different departments, keynote speakers, and resource people are involved in interactive sessions that foster knowledge-sharing and problem-solving to address the difficulties experienced by early career researchers. This session highlights how crucial professional advice is in assisting researchers in overcoming challenges and advancing their goals.
