We are interested in new phases and phenomena that arise in theoretical models of various condensed matter systems due to spin-orbit coupling, electron-electron interaction, disorder, and geometrical effects. In recent years, we have investigated various systems including complex oxide interfaces, topological insulators interfacing a ferromagnet, magnets hosting skyrmion crystals, semiconductor-superconductor interfaces hosting Majorana bound states, and kagome-lattice compounds. We use, for our calculations, various mean-field formalisms including Hartree-Fock method, self-consistent Bogoliubov-de Gennes technique, Monte Carlo (classical) methods, and density functional theory.
