Stuti Shah (Ph.D. Scholar), has received the prestigious Berkner Travel Fellowship to attend AGU 2021. It is a prestigious fellowship by AGU that fully funds all the expenses involved in attending the AGU conference. This year, it has been awarded to a total of 14 people around the world.

Aniruddha Saha(Team Lead), Aniket Chandra, Babita Malakar, and Shrishti Sharma have secured a spot in the winners' category under the guidance of Prof D S Arya, in MAPATHON organized jointly by ISRO, IIT-B, AICTE. The team had mapped the Urban Sprawl and Groundwater change of Ludhiana District over two time periods- to explain the groundwater change over time due to Urbanisation.

Team HydroR (Aniruddha Saha, Shrishti Sharma, Ankush Choudhary, Prachi Singhal, Babita Malakar, Ashish Manoj J) consisting entirely of students from the Department of Hydrology was selected as one of the eight finalists for the Wave2WebHackathon conducted by WRI India in association with Microsoft and BlackRock. As part of the Hackathon, the team created a neural network model to predict the reservoir water availability one month ahead for the city of Bangalore. The event had over 2130 registrations from across the globe.

Ashish Mishra (Team Lead), Malla Mani Kanta, Sushmita Gouraha, and Aman Kumar under the guidance of Prof D S Arya (Team ID: Mapathon3351), secured a spot in the winners' category in a National Level Map Making competition Mapathon 2020 jointly organized by IIT Bombay, ISRO and AICTE that received over 5000 entries throughout the country.
