Research Scholars' Day 2025 (Second edition) was held on 15th February 2025 at the Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Roorkee. The event was an incredible platform for showcasing cutting-edge research, promoting thought-provoking discussions, and fostering meaningful academic collaborations. It was an honor to witness brilliant minds presenting their innovative research across multiple disciplines.
The day featured an Expert Talk by our Guest of Honor, Prof. Prabina Rajib (Director, BIMTECH; Former Dean VGSOM IIT Kharagpur), Research Paper Presentations by research scholars across disciplines, and Poster Presentations, highlighting exceptional work from our research scholars. The event proved to be a great success in creating a vibrant and collaborative academic environment. Here's to continuing our research, innovation, and academic excellence journey!

AVENIR is an annual event, where we aim for the students to thoroughly understand the global market and the challenges it presents. We also look forward to bring out the significance of the full understanding of the global business landscape and the localization needs of the markets in renewing and strengthening great businesses through good times and bad. The speakers from industry and academia come together with the shared intent of providing the students with a true image of the global workplace so that the students can better weather the ebbs and flows of the global business market. Being a part of IIT Roorkee which has been chosen as one of the 30 pilot institutions under the Gender Advancement in Transforming Institutions (GATI) program (launched by the WISE-KIRAN division of the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the British Council), DoMS had organized an event for the same. Several competitions such as a 30-Minute Quiz, Debate Competition, Essay writing, Slogan writing and T-Shirt designing were organized post the orientation session with the aim of increasing awareness about gender advancement and GATI program.
CONFLUENCIA is the flagship event of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee. Initiated in 2008, it served as a knowledge-sharing platform for the head of various organizations to impart their insights to the budding managers of the country.
CONFLUENCIA’20 has become a three-day event where in addition to the guest lectures and panel discussions by eminent speakers from academia, industry and the government come together to share their experiences with the students, CONFLUENCIA will also conduct various events, competitions, and workshops on latest business practices designed to cater to students from all domains and backgrounds.
Theme: “Innovation Shaping Business Dynamics"
SANGHARSH’20, the inaugural edition of Inter B-School Sports Meet hosted by DoMS, IIT Roorkee is a three-day sports extravaganza that brings out the warrior inside the future managers. With excellent sports facilities that will cater to the need, IIT Roorkee hosts this new battleground for sports enthusiasts from premier B-Schools, where they can compete to know who reigns supreme. With an assortment of indoor and outdoor games accompanied by many other events, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the B-School calendar across the country.
Exuberance is the Annual Sports Festival of DoMS IIT Roorkee. The event gives a chance to both first and second-year students to show off their skills and prowess in different kinds of sports like Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Cycling, Carrom, Snooker, Table Tennis, Volleyball.
REGALIA is the annual alumni meet of DoMS IIT Roorkee. Regalia gives a chance to the previous batches to relive their memories while being back again. As alumni share their moments of joy with the hosting batches they also make sure that they guide all the students on how to get the best out of the place in terms of education, learning, experience, fun & free times at DoMS.
The night before convocation when three batches (super senior, senior, and junior) of students converge for the first and last time to have a fun-filled night at the department. It is a chance to share some memories: unforgettable, remaining ever vivid, and heartwarming!
COGNIZANCE is a vibrant technical festival that was initiated in 2003, with the aim of providing opportunities to the student community to exercise its academic acumen and ingenuity and become a hub for groundbreaking ideas and solutions.
The various events hosted by our department are FINANZA (Finance Club), Spectrum - The Beer game (Operations Club), Ideaz A (Analytics Club), Ideaz B (Digital Marketing Club).
Lastly, CORPOSTRAT, the flagship event of Cognizance was sponsored by Reliance Jio and saw the participation of students from all over the country, is organized by the Finance Club of the department.
Our department believes in developing a socially responsible mindset in the students and hence, crafting humane corporate leaders of tomorrow. Every year, during the deaf awareness week, the students of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee, come together to celebrate the extraordinary abilities of the extremely talented children of Anushruti. This year too, it was no different. “We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.”
