Research Area: The area of research is in the different dimensions of human resource practices in the organizations and to explore the factors responsible for developing human capital for effective performance. The research is so far done is in the area of personality traits, leadership traits and creation of intellectual capital, organizational culture and organizational development, Knowledge Management.

Dr. Santosh Rangnekar is working as Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He is having 30 years experience in reputed industries and academics like Raymond Ltd. Bombay (J.K. Engineers Files,Pithampur), Shriram Group of Industries (SIEL, Delhi), The Hukamchand Mills Limited Indore, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore, IIITM, Gwalior (Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior) and Department of Management Studies IIT Roorkee.

Dr.Santosh Rangnekar studied at Indore and obtained Ph.D., M.B.A. (H.R.M.) from Devi Ahilya Viswavidyalay, Indore. He has also studied LL.B. (Hons) from Indore and Post -Graduate Diploma In Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Vikram University of Ujjain.

He has published total 68  papers in International and National journals like

Dr. Santosh Rangnekar has been continuously engaged in the last 30 years in training. He has directed a number of Major Research Project work in different areas of management. He has designed and conducted a number of training programmers. As a core faculty member held sessions in Bajaj Auto Aurangabad, Hindalco Renusagar, Grasim Gwalior, Syncom Indore, Grasim Nagda, ISTD programs Faridabad and Dehradun and   in other  various executive development and unit based programs. Recently conducted management development programmers at Damoda Vally Corporation and Rajasthan rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Jaipur Everest India Limited, Ambuja cemet and Godrej manufacturing works etc. He is National council Memebr of ISTD, Dehradun Chapter.

Dr.Santosh Rangnekar has  publications in the areas of HRM, Knowledge Management, and Intellectual Capital at National and International level conferences,  like  at Boston University,  Boston, USA; Stevens Institute of Management, NJ, USA; Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea; Keio University, Japan; Charulongkorn University, Thailand; Western Sydney University, Australia; London Management School, London, UK; Yildis University, Istanbul,  Turkey; Wien University, Vienna, Austria; and widely traveled in the country and abroad. He is about to publish manual on Personality Job Fit, based on Holland’s Model of Personality and Second edition of his book on managerial effectiveness.

He has developed 30 cases in Management. He has published book titled “Improving Managerial Effectiveness” by Himalayan Publications.

• Dr. Rangnekar has been awarded by Best Paper of the conference held at Rothernburg Germany titled “European Applied Business Research Conference ’’ (2004).
• Dr. Rangnekar ‘s  another paper has been awarded by Best Paper award in the Conference held at ABV- IITM, Gwalior on March2-28,2011
•  Best paper Award in conference at London Management School on November 7-8,2011.

At present Dr. Santosh Rangnekar is working on Employee Engagement, Emotional Maturity, and Workplace Spirituality. Total 19 candidates have been awarded Doctorate degree and currently 4 candidates are pursuing Ph D Under his supervision.

Academic Contribution

Administrative Contribution:

1.     Head of the Department (HoD)since 1.1.2012 to 29 .2.2016.(50 Months).

Looking after all administrative functions assigned to me as HoD. The number of faculty has increased from 9 to 15.

The Department has received following awards

·       DoMS, IIT Roorkee  awarded by Lokmat the Outstanding B School (North) in July 2015 ,

·       DoMS, IIT Roorkee awarded with the B-School Leadership Award by DNA & Stars of the Industry Group - Innovative B-School Awards 2014.

·       DoMS,IIT Roorkee was ranked 10^th Best B-School in India by Career 360 in the year 2013.

·       DoMS was awarded the Best B-School in Leadership by Bloomberg TV in the year 2013.

·       DoMS was ranked 12^th Best B-School in India by Business Today Magazine for the year 2012.

Total 81 Ph D scholars were registered in the Department. The departmental research scholars published papers in high Impact factor. 6 Workshops have organized for research scholars.
