Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS) is used for compacting metallic, ceramic or metal-ceramic powders to form a pellet. SPS does not need a binder and achieves high density at reduced sintering temperature and time. The powder sample is filled into a graphite die through which current is passed and the resulting pellet is a material with better mechanical properties.

Sample must be bone dry by heating in oven at suitable temperature for atleast 24 hrs. Powder sample weight: 4-10g (depends on the sample density and desired pellet dimensions)

For Non-IITR users:
Educational institutes: ₹ 4,000 + 18% GST per sample
Govt Research labs: ₹ 8,000 + 18% GST per sample
Industry users:
⦁Testing : ₹ 10,000 + 18% GST per sample
⦁Consultancy: ₹ 15,000 + 18% GST per sample
Procedure for Sample Submission/Testing:
IITR Users:
MMED IITR users need to submit duly signed form at the office of the Officer In-charge. Non-MMED IITR users need to forward the form through Head, MMED.
For Non-IITR users: The requisition Form for SPS duly forwarded by the concerned Supervisor/Head, with details of NEFT/RTGS/UPI transfer and GST number of the concerned Institute, may kindly be sent to the postal address. E-mail Id and mobile number is to be clearly written in the application.
The Mode of Payment is only by online transfer through NEFT/RTGS/UPI. The details of account for the same is as under:
