About

Welcome to the Software Defined Radio (SDR) Lab at the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. We undertake and advance research in the area of Wireless Communications using theoretical and experimental techniques to create novel frameworks for PHY Layer of Wireless Communication Signal Processing specifically for Cell-Free Massive MIMO, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces, Integrated Sensing and Communications, Generative AI for wireless communication signal processing, Hybrid RF/VLC (Visible Light Communication) Systems. We are developing the next generation of wireless communication systems by developing suitable algorithms and evaluating their impact on system performance in terms of outage probability, error rate, throughput, spectral and energy efficiency. This involves developing analytical and empirical models and verifying them using simulations and over-the-air tests. We also develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts using software and hardware such as RFSoC FPGA boards and USRPs.
